Democracy Archive Center

The Democracy Archive Center is now responsible for the meticulous collection, preservation and documentation of archives pertaining to democratization, democracy in Asia, labor movements, progressive movements, civil movements and social movements. The depository center of democratization movement has over 80,000 separate items in its current collection, which is constantly increasing. It has become an important research center in its own right for specialists on Korea’s political development. The center also manages and runs a permanent exhibition on the modern history of pro-democracy struggle which plays an important role of historical education for students. The Korea Democracy Foundation, a public body for commemorating the democratization, is an important partner of the university’s effort to preserve and propagate the significance of democratic ideal in the country’s social, political and intellectual development.
